The PCD "Pelvic Compression Device™" design focused on absolute function. This versatile, easy to use, lightweight, reusable, non-invasive stabilization device performs three basic orthopedic functions;
  1. Stabilizes hip fractures, overcoming gravity effects on lateral hip aspects;
  2. Stabilizes open-book pelvic fractures using circumferential compression;
  3. Stabilizes pelvic region on longboards by impeding movement.

 
The PCD
is reusable, easy to clean and disinfect,
and is MRI, CT Scan and Radiologic compatible.

HIP FRACTURES
 
The PCD "Pelvic Compression Device™" is designed to be used in conjunction with a LOTS® splint when immobilizing a fractured hip. When placed over the trochanters "hip points" and secured using self stowing 2" kinetic compression strap, the PCDcradles the injured hip and pelvic area dynamically, overcoming the effects of gravity on the lateral aspects of the hip, while effectively stabilizing the injured hip and lower extremity as a unit.
PELVIC FRACTURES
 
The PCD "Pelvic Compression Device™" is also designed to be used as a stand-a-lone or in conjunction with a LOTS® splint when immobilizing a fractured pelvis. When placed over the trochanters "hip points" and secured using a 2" static web belt with locking buckle, the PCDcircumferentially compresses the injured pelvis effectively stabilizing the pelvis region. The LOTS® splint effectively immobilizes the lower extremity, when indicated, without applying any pressure against the pelvis.

LONGBOARD STABILIZATION
 
One of the PCD "Pelvic Compression Device™" design features impedes pelvic region movement on longboards. This feature works on all longboard surfaces, lifting and moving operations, and is extremely beneficial when moving patients from horizontal to vertical or during high-angle rescue when having to make a vertical descent.
