Does LOTS® need traction to make the splint work?

A.

NO...      By means of an enveloping dynamic framework, LOTS® overcomes the effects of gravity through anatomical alignment and shaping which immobilizes the injured extremity, and when integrated with the ComposiTrac™ bar and kinetic extremity hitch it provides an opposing biomechanical dynamic force (pulling action) to overcome unopposed distal skeletal retraction (muscle pull).      These two separate functions are integrated and synergistically perform with the least amount of applied force necessary to achieve and maintain realignment of soft tissue and bony structures along their original lines, control hemorrhage and prevent injury aggravating movement.
