YES - Prehospital removal of the PCD™ should be made only in consultation with on-line medical control director. Application of PCD™ may have decreased pelvic ring fracture third space volume and resulted in tamponade of associated hemorrhage. Without sufficient fluid infusion and hypotension management, PCD™ removal may facilitate return of pelvic ring to its original injured position, with a potential for increase in third space hemorrhage.
